Victory Subaru Donates to the Salvation Army - Hailey K.

This holiday season, Victory Subaru was honored to spread joy and generosity throughout our community. In the spirit of giving, we donated a collection of toys to the Salvation Army to help make the holidays brighter for children and families in need. Each toy represents a smile, a moment of excitement, and the warmth that comes from knowing others care. By partnering with the Salvation Army, Victory Subaru was proud to play a small part in creating joyful holiday memories for local families. At Victory Subaru, we believe the holidays are about more than celebration—they're about compassion, community, and giving back to those who need it most.

Halloween Costume Donation - Hailey K.

This October, Victory Subaru was proud to give back to our community in a meaningful and heartfelt way. As families prepared for the Halloween season, we partnered with Center for Great Expectations to help make the month a little brighter. Victory Subaru donated Halloween costumes to families in need, ensuring children could fully enjoy the excitement and joy of the season. From superheroes to princesses, each costume represented more than just a fun outfit—it was a reminder that our community cares and comes together to support one another. We are honored to support Center for Great Expectations and the incredible work they do for families every day. At Victory Subaru, giving back isn't just something we do—it's who we are.

VICTORY SUBARU LOVES THE EARTH - MICHELE C.

Roosevelt School would like to thank Victory Subaru for their continued support. Each year, Victory Subaru provides our students with the opportunity to take home their very own plant as part of school's Earth Day celebrations. "In our community, where many children have limited access to green spaces, this experience is especially meaningful," states school counselor Christina Sciancalepore. Through this initiative students learn how plants grow, how to care for them and even explore growing alternatives types of plants. Victory Subaru also encourages creativity by allowing students to decorate their own pots and design custom plant tags. Sciancalepore continues, "This hands-on experience not only teaches environmental responsibility but also inspires pride and excitement in our young learners."

CAREER DAY - MICHELE C.

Roosevelt School would like to thank Victory Subaru for their continued support. "They are integral part of our school's Career Day events and play a key role in inspiring students," says Christina Sciancalepore, school counselor. "Victory Subaru introduces students to a wide range of career opportunities- from hands-on mechanics to roles in sales and management. They also provide students with hands-on experience by bringing in different vehicles, allowing them to explore cars that they may not otherwise have the opportunity to see up close. This experience is especially meaningful to the students as Roosevelt School serves a diverse, low socio-economic community where exposure to such career paths and resources is often limited. We are truly grateful for the impact Victory Subaru has on our students' learning and future aspirations."

Victory Subaru Celebrates Sustainability and Learning with Subaru Loves the Earth Activation - Hailey K.

At Victory Subaru, we are passionate about fostering a love for the planet and our community. This spring, as part of the Subaru Loves the Earth activation, we once again partnered with the Roosevelt School of New Brunswick to create a memorable and meaningful day for their students. Our team brought over 100 plants, along with pots, stickers, and markers, giving every child the opportunity to not only plant their very own greenery but also to decorate their pots and customize them to their liking. This simple yet impactful activity lit up the children’s faces—it was like watching them experience the magic of Christmas all over again. The joy, creativity, and pride the students displayed while designing their planters and nurturing their new plants were truly heartwarming. The day became even more special as it coincided with Career Day at the Roosevelt School. Victory Subaru was proud to contribute to this event by sending Joel McComsey, our Service Director, and Tim Menzel, one of our talented technicians, to share their experiences and talk about what they do every day. They spoke about the importance of hard work, dedication, and pursuing passions, inspiring students to explore a wide range of career paths. To add even more excitement, Joel and Tim brought along one of Victory Subaru’s exotic cars—a stunning Lotus—for the kids to see and even sit in. The students were thrilled, their faces lighting up with amazement and curiosity as they got an up-close look at the impressive vehicle. Watching the children’s excitement and awe was beyond incredible—it was clear that this experience would leave a lasting impression. At Victory Subaru, we pride ourselves on going above and beyond to make a difference. Whether it’s introducing kids to the wonders of plants and sustainability or bringing a little extra excitement to Career Day with an exotic car, these moments are what set us apart. They reflect who we are as a team and our commitment to enriching our community in creative and meaningful ways. This activation was about more than just plants or cars—it was about inspiring the next generation to care for the earth and dream big. The Subaru Loves the Earth initiative reminds us that small actions, like planting a seed, can grow into something extraordinary. We are incredibly grateful to the Roosevelt School for welcoming us back for another impactful collaboration and to our amazing team for their dedication and enthusiasm. Seeing the joy and inspiration we could bring to the students was a reminder of the power of community and the importance of giving back. Thank you to everyone who supports initiatives like this and helps us create moments that matter. Together, we’re making the world brighter, greener, and more exciting—one small act of kindness and creativity at a time.

Victory Subaru Spreads Love for Animals with Subaru Loves Pets Activation - Hailey K.

At Victory Subaru, we believe that every pet deserves a loving home and compassionate care. As part of the Subaru Loves Pets activation, we were thrilled to make a difference in the lives of animals and support the incredible organizations dedicated to their well-being. To start, Victory Subaru proudly donated $4,000 to Jersey Girls Animal Rescue, a phenomenal organization that goes above and beyond in the animal community. Their mission is to ensure that every pet they encounter receives the help, care, and support they need to find a forever home. From rescuing abandoned animals to providing medical care and adoption services, Jersey Girls Animal Rescue is a shining example of selflessness and dedication. It was an honor to contribute to their ongoing efforts and help them continue their vital work. Victory Subaru also participated in the North Brunswick Dog Walk-a-Thon, an annual charity event hosted by the North Brunswick Humane Association. This fantastic event brings together animal lovers and their furry friends to raise awareness and funds for local animal welfare initiatives. During the event, our team brought along dog treats purchased by our staff to hand out to all the four-legged participants. Seeing wagging tails and happy pups enjoying the treats was a heartwarming reminder of the joy pets bring into our lives. This activation wasn’t just about donations—it was about being actively involved in the community and supporting the individuals and organizations who tirelessly advocate for animals. Both Jersey Girls Animal Rescue and the North Brunswick Humane Association exemplify the values of care and compassion that align perfectly with Subaru’s mission to love and care for all. At Victory Subaru, we’re not only passionate about cars but also about giving back to the communities we serve, including our furry friends. Supporting these incredible organizations and participating in events like the Dog Walk-a-Thon underscores our commitment to making a difference in the lives of animals and their caretakers. We are deeply grateful to Jersey Girls Animal Rescue, the North Brunswick Humane Association, and all the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to ensure that every animal receives the love, care, and attention they deserve. Their efforts inspire us to do more, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with these organizations to create a brighter future for pets and their families. Thank you to everyone who supports Subaru Loves Pets and helps make these initiatives possible. Together, we’re creating a kinder world—one donation, one event, and one act of love at a time. Let’s continue to make a positive impact for our furry companions and the community that cares for them!

Victory Subaru Supports Education with Subaru Loves Learning Activation - Hailey K.

At Victory Subaru, we believe that education is the foundation for a brighter future, and we are committed to supporting the incredible teachers and students who make learning possible. As part of the Subaru Loves Learning activation, we partnered with the Roosevelt School of New Brunswick to provide essential supplies and show our appreciation for the tireless work of educators. Through this initiative, Victory Subaru proudly delivered over 30 backpacks filled with various school supplies, ensuring that students had the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. From notebooks and pencils to other essential materials, these backpacks were packed with care to help students focus on what truly matters: learning. But we didn’t stop there. Recognizing the critical role teachers play in shaping the lives of their students, Victory Subaru also presented the school with a $3,000 check. This donation was dedicated to helping teachers purchase additional supplies and resources for their classrooms. Whether it’s art supplies, educational games, or innovative tools to make lessons more engaging, we wanted to ensure that these incredible educators had the support they deserve to continue inspiring young minds. Teachers are the unsung heroes of our communities, often going above and beyond their duties to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive. Despite the challenges they face, they give so much of themselves, often with limited resources. This small gesture was our way of saying, "Thank you," and acknowledging their unwavering dedication to their students and their craft. Delivering these supplies and the check was a heartfelt experience for the Victory Subaru team. Seeing the smiles on the teachers’ faces and knowing that we could ease some of their burdens, even in a small way, was deeply touching. It served as a reminder of how impactful community engagement can be and how important it is to invest in education and those who dedicate their lives to it. At Victory Subaru, we take immense pride in our continuous efforts to support the community. Partnering with the Roosevelt School was not just about giving back—it was about strengthening the bonds within our community and showing our commitment to making a difference in the lives of students and teachers alike. We extend our deepest gratitude to the teachers at the Roosevelt School and to all educators who go the extra mile for their students every day. Your work does not go unnoticed, and we are honored to support you in creating brighter futures for the next generation. Thank you to everyone who supports our efforts and makes initiatives like this possible. Together, we can create a world where every student and teacher has the resources they need to succeed. Let’s continue to make a difference—one backpack, one donation, and one act of kindness at a time.

Victory Subaru Brings Warmth to the Community with Subaru Loves to Help Activation - Hailey K.

At Victory Subaru, we believe in making a difference—not just through our vehicles but through meaningful acts of kindness that touch lives in our local community. This winter, as part of the Subaru Loves to Help initiative, we partnered with Operation Warm to bring warmth and smiles to children in need. Through this partnership, we were able to provide over 100 brand-new jackets to children at the Roosevelt School in New Brunswick, ensuring they have what they need to stay warm and comfortable during the colder months. This initiative was particularly special because it focused on helping underprivileged children who may not have access to essentials like a new jacket. The Victory Subaru team, represented by Michele Chevalier, Allison Napoleon, and Hailey Kolb, had the privilege of personally delivering these jackets to the school. Handing out the jackets and witnessing the pure joy and gratitude on the children’s faces was nothing short of heartwarming. For many of these kids, receiving a brand-new jacket was a rare and exciting moment—a small gesture that made a huge impact. One of the most profound aspects of this experience was the reminder of how much we often take for granted. For many of us, a warm jacket is something we don’t think twice about, but for these children, it represented comfort, care, and the assurance that someone is looking out for them. The smiles, the excitement, and the thank-yous we received were a powerful testament to the difference these small acts of kindness can make. The Subaru Loves to Help initiative is about more than donations—it’s about showing up, being present, and fostering real connections with our community. Being able to see the direct impact of this activation was an eye-opening and humbling experience for all of us at Victory Subaru. It reminded us why we do what we do: to give back, to uplift, and to make a positive difference in the lives of those around us. We are incredibly grateful to Operation Warm for making this possible and to the Roosevelt School of New Brunswick for welcoming us with open arms. Together, we’re building a community where everyone has the resources they need to thrive. Thank you to all who continue to support our efforts to give back. These experiences are a reminder that kindness is powerful, and every small act can spark hope and joy in someone’s life. Let’s continue working together to bring warmth, love, and support to those who need it most.

Fill the Forester Food Drive - Hailey K.

World hunger continues to be a pressing issue that impacts countless lives every day, and at Victory Subaru, we believe that even small acts of kindness can create a big impact. This holiday season, we wanted to do our part in addressing food insecurity in our local community by launching the “Fill the Forester” Food Drive. The idea was simple but powerful: We invited our team, customers, and community members to come together and donate non-perishable food items to help those in need. We chose to partner with Jewish Family Services of Middlesex County (JFS), an incredible organization that provides vital resources to families and individuals facing food insecurity. For over five years, we’ve proudly supported JFS, and this initiative was yet another way to further our commitment to their mission. Through the generous contributions of our community, we collected approximately $500 worth of boxed and canned goods—items that will go a long way in helping local families put meals on the table. Each donation was a symbol of hope and care, reminding us of the strength of a community united in compassion. At Victory Subaru, we believe that addressing challenges like hunger starts at the local level. By working together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most. The “Fill the Forester” Food Drive was not just about donating food—it was about demonstrating our shared commitment to supporting our neighbors and uplifting the community as a whole. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, from our dedicated staff to the kind-hearted members of our community who contributed to this effort. Together, we made a positive impact, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Jewish Family Services of Middlesex County to tackle food insecurity and provide hope for those in need. Hunger may be an ongoing issue, but with efforts like this, we are reminded that change is possible—one act of kindness at a time. Thank you for helping us make a difference, and let’s continue to stand together for a stronger, more compassionate community!

Victory Subaru Celebrates Record Breaking Share the Love Event - Hailey K.

As a nice kickoff to the 2024 year, we’re reflecting on an incredible end to the 2023 year, highlighted by the Subaru Share the Love Event, which wrapped up on January 2, 2024. This annual initiative has become one of our favorite traditions, and this year was no exception. It gave us the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting two extraordinary local organizations that are changing lives every day. For the 2023/2024 year, Victory Subaru selected The Center for Great Expectations and Visions and Pathways as our charitable beneficiaries. Both organizations are deeply committed to helping individuals in need within our community: The Center for Great Expectations provides long-term residential care for adults facing challenges such as mental health issues, substance abuse, homelessness, and parenting or pregnancy struggles. Their work helps people find stability, healing, and the tools to rebuild their lives. Visions and Pathways operates local group homes for young adults who have faced homelessness, neglect, abuse, or other traumatic experiences. They offer essential resources and guidance to help these individuals navigate toward brighter futures. Through the Subaru Share the Love Event, Victory Subaru proudly matched Subaru’s $250 per new car donation with an additional $50 per car, making each donation total $300 per vehicle sold. During the event, Victory Subaru sold an incredible 108 vehicles, resulting in $32,400 in donations. But we didn’t stop there. To amplify the impact, we added an additional $30,000, bringing the total amount donated to an astounding $62,400! The funds were distributed as follows: Visions and Pathways received $42,461, empowering them to continue their vital work with local youth. The Center for Great Expectations received $19,926, supporting their mission to provide transformative care to adults and families in need. Presenting these donations was a heartfelt and exciting moment for the entire Victory Subaru team. Knowing that these contributions will directly impact lives and strengthen our community is what drives us to go above and beyond. We are incredibly proud to support organizations that work tirelessly to uplift those who need it most. A huge thank you to all of our customers who participated in the Share the Love Event—your support makes this possible. Together, we’ve made a real difference, and we’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with these remarkable charities in the future.

Making the Holiday Season a Little Brighter with Visions and Pathways - Judith F.

The holiday season is a time for giving, gratitude, and community, and this year at Victory Subaru, we wanted to make it a little extra special. We spent some time thinking about how we could make a meaningful impact and give back to those who need it most. Since 2017, we have been proud to partner with Visions and Pathways, an incredible in-state organization dedicated to providing care and support for young adults in need. They operate youth group homes and tirelessly go above and beyond to ensure their residents receive the resources, guidance, and compassion they deserve. Their work is truly inspiring, and we are honored to be part of their journey. The holidays can be a particularly difficult time for these young individuals, as they may face unique mental and emotional challenges during the season. To bring a little joy and brightness to their lives, we decided to create personalized holiday cards for all 15 residents of Visions and Pathways. Each card includes a $50 gift card, giving them the opportunity to treat themselves to something special and feel the warmth of the holiday spirit. This initiative is a testament to the incredible leadership and compassion of our team across all departments here at Victory Subaru. It was a collaborative effort born out of genuine care for our community and a shared commitment to making a difference. We are so proud to continue our partnership with Visions and Pathways and to support the amazing work they do. Together, we are helping to make the holidays brighter for these young adults, reminding them that they are cared for, valued, and not alone. From all of us at Victory Subaru, we wish everyone a joyful and meaningful holiday season filled with love, kindness, and community. Let’s continue to spread hope and cheer wherever we can!

Victory Subaru Brings Warmth to Cancer Patients in Community - Samantha V.

For the past several years, Victory Subaru has been partnering with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset Steeplechase Cancer Center in Somerville New Jersey through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. This partnership involves delivering blankets and messaging of hope to those fighting cancer. On Friday June 14th, Victory Subaru personally delivered these items to local cancer patients in treatment at the Steeplechase Cancer Center. This amazing program has truly allowed these two organizations to not only positively impact the communities where they live and work, but sends hope, love and warmth to patients facing cancer. The Steeplechase Cancer Center staff expressed their sincere appreciation for Victory Subaru who keeps their patients in their thoughts when deciding where to bring their generous donations.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

HomeFront inspires hope to all - Jen S.

Victory Subaru celebrated its 10th anniversary last year with a pledge to build even more partnerships with charitable organizations making a difference right here in New Jersey. We didn’t have to look far. HomeFront is based just shy of Princeton and Trenton in Lawrenceville. And HomeFront helps people across the state, empowers individuals, uplifts families and makes the world a better place. We are so inspired by the good work of HomeFront! Our partnership began with our first-ever sponsorship of nonprofit’s annual #FamilyDay on October 9 that featured a 5K race, fun walk and plenty of activities for families at the Carnegie Center in West Windsor. HomeFront's Halloween Family Day supported the nonprofit's Joy, Hopes and Dreams children's enrichment, mentoring, and tutoring programming, which benefits over 400 children impacted by homelessness and poverty each year. Noteworthy, our general sales manager, Anthony Napoleon, ran in the 5K race that day. We love to show we care at Victory Subaru and being part of this community, in big ways and small ways, is an important way we give back to make a difference. On November 9, Allison Napoleon, on behalf of Victory Subaru, presented a check to HomeFront to support their work to help children and families overcome hardships so everyone can thrive. Victory Subaru is dedicated to supporting the community every day of the year through our Love Promise initiative. That’s why we didn’t stop supporting HomeFront with a check in November, we sponsored a child, who lives in Mercer County, for Christmas through HomeFront’s Wishlist program. In December, we donated all items on the nine-year-old’s Wishlist to ensure a very special holiday for him to enjoy! “It was exactly what he asked for,” said Jenna Sliwinski, the give goods coordinator of HomeFront. Her role also focuses on community engagement. “HomeFront has helped keep children clean, fed, and educated through multiple programs,” Sliwinski said. In 2023, the organization distributed more than 1 million meals via its choice food pantry and more than 2 million diapers via our Diaper Resource Center, she said. More than 1,500 kids benefitted from HomeFront’s holiday and back-to-school drives. Also, HomeFront’s Joy Hopes and Dreams programs support the county's children through weekly tutoring, field trips, and educational opportunities, she said. HomeFront was founded in 1991. That’s when, one evening, “a passionate and energetic woman stood in the doorway of a dilapidated motel room on Route 1. What she saw changed her life and the lives of thousands of other people forever. Connie Mercer had accompanied a pediatrician friend, Dr. Chris Hansen, to see what was being done to help families experiencing the lowest moments of their lives in her community. The answer was chilling: not much,” Sliwinski stated. “From that realization, HomeFront was created to meet immediate needs but also provide the long-term support needed to truly break the cycle of poverty. Established by a cadre of caring volunteers, HomeFront has been recognized on the national and state level for its wraparound services and holistic approach,” Sliwinski said. She said Homefront owes much of its success to the sponsors of the nonprofit’s events. “At HomeFront We have 35 plus programs that work to prevent and abolish homelessness in Mercer County. All over the county and beyond businesses help to support this goal in several different ways. Every individual whether donating or volunteering makes a difference, now imagine how exponential the impact is when workers come together for a good cause,” she said. “Our events, drives, and ability to spread awareness in the community would be hindered without our generous sponsors,” Sliwinski added. And while HomeFront has been committed to meeting the needs of families facing housing insecurity since 1991, the work has grown into 35 holistic programs and services providing families with the help they need today and the long-term support they need for tomorrow, Sliwinski noted. “Take Victory Subaru's lead and feel free to get involved however you can,” she said. Donations can be dropped off at Homefront’s Lawrenceville campus, 1880 Princeton Ave., New Jersey from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. “We have truly enjoyed being a part of HomeFront's most recent events the past few months,” said Allison Napoleon, “and look forward to continuing this partnership.”

True warmth of compassion - Jen S.

Compassion drives Victory Subaru. This past summer, our team visited the Steeplechase Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, during our annual Subaru LOVES TO CARE event. At the campus, we donated dozens of all-new blankets for patients. While the blankets help to keep people warm, they are also a reminder that no one is alone, especially those fighting cancer. Their bravery and perseverance inspires us every day at Victory Subaru. “Cancer patients are not only an inspiration to our staff here at Steeplechase, but also to one another. Our support groups provide them with a common bond and friendship,” said Patti Halicki, administration manager at Steeplechase Cancer Center. Steeplechase is a three-story, 63,000-square-foot outpatient facility on Rehill Avenue. The medical center provides patients with the latest technologies to combat cancer while helping them to regain their health and well-being. “Here at Steeplechase Cancer Center the blankets are given out to our patients in Radiation Oncology and Infusion Services. Patients feel cold for many reasons when they are in treatment,” Halicki said. “These beautiful blankets provide warmth to their bodies and also provide a sense that others are thinking of them and wishing them healing.” Approximately 60 patients received the blankets, she said. “Since we are an adult outpatient facility, the blankets were distributed to patients ranging in age from their thirties to nineties. They all took them home,” she said. “Some bring them back and forth for outpatient treatment,” Halicki noted. “We are part of a wonderful community in Somerville, New Jersey,” Halicki said, “and receive donations throughout the year.” Community donations, in addition to Victory Subaru’s support, include support from high school sport teams, Girl Scouts, and private charitable giving. “We always look forward to the Subaru blanket donation,” she said. “Thank you!” The Subaru Loves To Care initiative is in partnership with Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and representative Samantha Vickers Hymowitz was present for Victory’s donation of 80 patient blankets this past summer. Victory Subaru first began making charitable donations to Steeplechase in 2017. The entire team at Victory is grateful for the good people making a difference at Steeplechase. Every patient inspires us, their bravery is beyond measure. Each year, we send personalized messages of hope to patients in our community. These handwritten notes come from both our team members and our customers. We know that compassion is the driving force for a better world, and we love to care. Together we can make a difference!

United for child safety, community partnership with Somerset County Sheriff's Office thrives - Jen S.

For the third consecutive year, the Somerset County Sheriff's Office returned to Victory Subaru and provided FREE child safety seat checks for the vehicles of families in New Jersey. Our children are the most important cargo we carry, and ensuring everyone's safety is always paramount at Victory Subaru. Jacqueline, a mother in nearby Mercer Co., brought her two boys, ages three and four, to the special event. She said she wanted to ensure their safety at all times while driving in her vehicle, especially with winter soon coming. Team members from the sheriff's office removed the family’s two child car seats and re-assembled them properly with the seatbelts tightly secured and up-to-code. “The safety of my sons is my number one priority. Thank you, Victory Subaru,” Jacqueline said. The Hopewell resident lauded law enforcement, too. “They are making a difference,” she said. The sheriffs office also brought a canine guest to meet and greet with the children this year while their families were waiting for their car seats to be inspected and secured. The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office Child Safety Seat Installation Unit has conducted these free inspections consecutively at Victory Subaru since 2021. These certified technicians inspect each child car seat presented to see if they are properly installed, demonstrate correct procedures for parents and guardians to see to teach proper installation steps. Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 100 children die each year in car crashes because they are not properly restrained. As part of our Love Promise commitment, Victory Subaru is grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office for the good of our community. This event shall return again in 2024. Stay tuned! #LovePromise

'Grateful for the joy' - Jen S.

Victory Subaru is driven to uplift our community with love. When people face hardship, Victory Subaru is here for them. And that’s why since 2019 this family-owned and operated dealership has donated Halloween costumes to the Center for Great Expectations. The costumes benefit the children of parents who are in recovery from trauma through the good work and leadership of The Center for Great Expectations. Nearly a decade ago, Victory Subaru began its relationship with The Center for Great Expectations when the nonprofit was selected for the first-time ever as the dealership’s hometown charity during the Subaru SHARE THE LOVE Event. Like this Somerset-based nonprofit, Victory Subaru believes that through compassion leads to healing which ultimately serves to transform the lives of neighbors in need through kindness, support and collaboration. Since 2014, Victory has selected The Center for Great Expectations many times as the dealership's hometown charity, including this year during the 16th annual Subaru SHARE THE LOVE Event, underway now. And through this ongoing partnership, Victory began donating Halloween costumes for the children whose parents are rebuilding and transforming their lives thanks to the support of The Center of Great Expectations. This fall, Michele Chevalier and Allison Napoleon donate all-new Halloween costumes on behalf of Victory Subaru to families at The Center for Great Expectations in Somerset, New Jersey. Soon after, the nonprofit shared this message on social media: “Happy Halloween! Our CGE children had a spook-tacular afternoon as they joined in our Halloween Parade and Trunk-or-Treat. Moms and their little ones, all decked out in whimsical costumes, excitedly visited each car collecting Halloween treats. Our dedicated staff added creative decorations to their vehicles to make the Trunk-or-Treat experience even more memorable. The joy on the children's faces was truly heartwarming as they reveled in the Halloween festivities. The afternoon was filled with laughter and excitement. It was delightful to see our CGE children and their mothers thoroughly enjoying the parade and Trunk-or-Treat, making this event a cherished memory for all. Thank you to Victory Subaru for gifting us costumes for the children. They were a hit! Victory Subaru has donated Halloween costumes for several years now, and we are incredibly grateful for the joy it brings our children.” Indeed, as Nelson Mandela said: "There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul that the way in which it treats its children." Victory Subaru is committed to uplifting the lives of the children and their families in Somerset County and across New Jersey. Together we can make a difference!

Earth Day Is Every Day - Jen S.

Earth Day is a way to show love for the planet and celebrated at home and around the world each year on April 22. This past Earth Day, Victory Subaru donated 170 plants — grown by Victory staff with soil made from recyclable materials — to the students of Roosevelt Elementary School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Michele and Brooklyn traveled to the city school with plants to share with students of all ages and their teachers. The students asked questions about the plants, which included a wide spectrum of unique species. Each student in a half-dozen classrooms received a plant of their own. Their assistant: care for the plant, water the plant, ensure the plant has sunlight — and watch it grow! In addition to supporting Roosevelt on Earth Day, Victory Subaru has donated to the school for several consecutive years as part of the dealership’s annual Subaru Loves Learning® program each September. “I have always valued the importance of community partnerships and Subaru of America, Inc. has supported more than 300,000 students nationwide as a proud partner and sponsor of AdoptAClassroom.org,” said Aquaus Kelley, an award-winning teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School. “Thank you Subaru and Victory Subaru for your continued support." Victory Subaru is committed to supporting the local community in the heart of New Jersey and each year the dealership’s connection with this local elementary school continues to blossom. And every time the Victory team members visit with the teachers and students at Roosevelt, the entire experience serves as a gentle reminder to never stop learning! And as for Earth Day, Victory Subaru celebrates this holiday every day. Customers can drop off their recyclable items in bins we have displayed in our Service Center. Folks can drop off disposable cups, lids, straws, candy and snack wrappers, and coffee and creamer capsules. Subaru Loves the Earth®, and together we are making our planet a more sustainable place for all to enjoy.

Love Always Wins - Jen S.

When Scott drove away from Victory in his first-ever Subaru, his grateful heart brought him back to the dealership just a few days later. With flowers in tow, he brought a hand-written thank you note to Maria Mandas, sales associate, Anthony Napoleon, general sales manager, and Brandon Baker, owner. “I felt blessed to be a part of the moment. Being appreciated is one thing, but being appreciated by such a young customer made it so much more special,” said Maria. She reflected: “My team worked very closely to find the perfect vehicle. Safety was number one, as this customer had unique challenges that most kids his age don't experience. Safety features that many people take for granted were necessary for him. One challenge in particular was that he did not have peripheral vision on his left side — so blind spot monitoring was essential.” Maria continued: “This car was a marking point for independence and resilience. Unlike most kids who drive at 17, he had to overcome many obstacles that involved many surgeries and rehabilitation.” Maria has since been promoted to the role of customer retention manager at Victory Subaru. She said the Subaru Love Promise is very important to her and working with Scott and his family was a testament that caring and kindness have the power to change the world, one moment at a time. “It means everything to me,” Maria said. “It is a prime example that we are not here to just sell cars, we are here to make a difference.”

The Impact of a Robust Community Partnership - Tim C.

As a long-standing community advocate, Victory Subaru began supporting The Center for Great Expectations (CGE) nine years ago. Most recently, CGE was granted $38,839 through Subaru’s Share the Love® event. Victory Subaru’s generosity directly impacts and sustains CGE’s mission to provide a safe place, presence and path for pregnant and parenting women and their children, and men, seeking treatment for substance use and mental health disorders. Victory Subaru believes in making the world a better place and their generous support of CGE demonstrates their commitment to respecting all people. It is often said of CGE, “Hope Lives Here.” And, while that might seem to be a simple statement, it becomes deeply profound when one considers that only 2% of all treatment facilities in the country welcome pregnant or parenting women and adolescents who want to stay with their children while seeking treatment. This ideal of creating and encouraging optimism and hope is rooted in CGE’s continuum of care and expertise designed to disrupt the generational cycle of trauma. Each person that comes through the doors of CGE has their own experience of trauma. The organization creates a safe space so clients can heal and begin to build the foundation required for a healthy and balanced life. In speaking about CGE, Anthony Napoleon, Victory Subaru’s General Sales Manager, said, “Compassion counts. We’re thrilled to support this amazing hometown nonprofit and continue its good work helping people in need overcome trauma.” Victory Subaru’s generosity helps women like Briana. Prior to her admission to CGE, Briana lived a life of pain and significant trauma. In November 2022, she gave birth to a beautiful daughter, who was born addicted to opiates. At the time, Briana was homeless and actively using. Her call to CGE to seek help subsequently set her and her newborn daughter up for a second chance at life. At CGE, Briana worked through her trauma and learned ways to manage her internal and external stressors, while providing her daughter with the best care possible. Briana is a resilient woman who has opened herself up to a new life and has welcomed recovery into her world, making important changes and decisions to reach optimal mental health. Since arriving at CGE, she has developed aspirations of becoming a drug and alcohol counselor and is hopeful that one day she will be able to impact others as profoundly as she has been impacted by the staff at CGE. "I want to help others the way I have been helped, and give back to people in a way that makes them succeed and complete their dreams," states Briana. CGE, based in Somerset, operates six unique programs – its continuum of care – that are in place to support clients at various stages of their lives. Founded in 1998 by President/CEO Peg Wright, CGE includes two residential facilities, an on-site child development center, an outpatient treatment program, a permanent supportive housing program, a community-based home visitation program, and the Institute, CGE’s training and consulting arm. In addition to generous monetary support, Victory Subaru has also made several essential supply donations to CGE over the years. Peg Wright explained, “We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and commitment that we receive from the amazing team at Victory Subaru. Their dedication has a lasting impact on the well-being of the individuals and families that we serve and is a prime example of a robust community partnership in action.”

Give A Dog A Chance! Adopt Don't Shop - Jenni Dawn S.

SOMERSET — Advocates for animal well-being united at Victory Subaru for a special Give A Dog A Chance event featuring New Jersey State Senator Raymond J. Lesniak and Somerset Regional Animal Shelter. Senator Lesniak served as a state lawmaker for four decades where he championed historic animal well-being legislation that is now law. Since retiring from the state house in 2018, the Elizabeth native has continued to advocate for social justice causes. While delivering a keynote address on the power to make a difference for shelter pups, Senator Lesniak encouraged everyone to “adopt, don’t shop” when seeking to bring a dog into one’s home as a new family member. He also addressed the importance of advocacy, noting that everyone can make a difference. This year Victory Subaru again partnered with Somerset Regional Animal Shelter for Subaru Loves Pets. The shelter brought a “homeless” puppy, Savannah, who was up for adoption to meet with the senator and fellow friends at the dealership. She met and greeted sales associates, service team members and customers during her special visit. For every dog and cat adopted at the shelter this past October, the dealership, in conjunction with Subaru of America, donated $100 per pet to Somerset Regional Animal Shelter to help ensure more shelter animals can find their fur-ever homes. The event on October 31 took place on the very last day of this campaign in celebration of all the good achieved thanks to our loyal customers, dedicated staff and all the wonderful advocates at Somerset Regional Animal Shelter. The opportunity to come together with a celebratory moment was an important way to close the dealership's annual, month-long campaign to #GiveADogAChance. All Subaru Loves Pets proceeds from the campaign raised this past October are directly benefiting the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter. Heartfelt thanks to all who support shelter animals during their quests to find fur-ever homes. Back in 2017, Senator Lesniak made a surprise visit in support of the pups and New Jersey volunteers at Victory Subaru during the dealership’s fifth annual springtime adoption event for rescue dogs. Nonprofits in attendance included North Brunswick Humane Association, German Shepherd Rescue of New Jersey, JerseyGirls AnimalRescue and North Jersey Humane Society Rescue Center and Second Chance For Animals. “Thank you to Subaru,” Senator Lesniak said during his keynote address to animal advocates at Victory Subaru on October 31. “I have adopted dogs myself.” Lesniak said he continues to work in Trenton for the state to ban the sale of dogs in shops, as New York has done. “These animals are our friends,” he said.

A Cycle of Service - Tim C.

A while back, Lavette, Residential Associate, Team Lead in our Adolescent Residential program had to take her daughter to the emergency room. What came next was a pretty amazing story. “While we were in the emergency room, my daughter was being attended to by this wonderful young nurse. As we waited for the doctor to come in, I told the nurse that I had to check in at work to let them know I would be late. She asked, ‘Where do you work?’ I replied, ‘The Center for Great Expectations.’ She looked at me with this huge smile on her face and said, ‘I was there.’ Curious, I asked her what she did when she was there. Her reply? ‘I had my baby there. I was a client.’ Not expecting that response left me speechless for a moment. Here I was face-to-face with one of our Adolescent program success stories. Someone who came to us as a pregnant teenager struggling with trauma, abuse or mental health issue, is now leading this wonderful, productive, full life as both a mother and a nurse. After I overcame my initial shock, we began chatting about her time at CGE. She told me how nurturing and compassionate our staff was as they worked with her to help her. They taught her how to be a good mother and helped put her on the path towards her nursing career. We shared a lot of stories about CGE that day — as well as some tears, hugs and even a few laughs. I couldn’t wait to get back to CGE to tell everyone this story. And as soon as I brought my daughter back home, that’s exactly what I did. I could see a great sense of pride and quite a few teary eyes as I retold my story again and again. To this day, I never get tired of telling it. It’s a testament to the work we do here every day. It’s not easy. And we may never see the end results. But when we do, it’s magical.” “Of course, we couldn’t embark on this life-changing work were it not for our incredible partners, like the team at Victory Subaru. Thanks to their ongoing and incredible support, we at The Center for Great Expectations are able to provide a safe presence and path for individuals such as this resilient young woman to launch forward,” states COO, Tim Cummings.

Victory Subaru donates $31,500 to support domestic violence victims in recovery - Jenni Dawn S.

Victory Subaru presented a charitable donation of $31,500 to The Center for Great Expectations to support people in recovery from trauma. Funds were raised during the 14th annual SHARE THE LOVE event to support the nonprofit’s charitable mission facilitating the healing and recovery of domestic abuse victims and their families in New Jersey. “Victory Subaru is proud to support our community and the incredible work achieved by The Center for Great Expectations,” said Brandon Baker, owner of Victory Subaru. "Victims of domestic abuse are not alone thanks to the good work of this incredible local charity, which helps women and children in need to uplift families in Somerset and across New Jersey.” The Center for Great Expectations, founded in 1998, provides expecting mothers, facing homelessness in order to flee domestic violence, with a safe place to live so that they may complete a healthy pregnancy. The center offers adolescent and adult services including outpatient treatment and permanent supportive housing. Victory Subaru presented the check for $31,500 to The Center for Great Expectations this past spring on April 22. "Community is everything! Victory Subaru is a stellar example of what happens when people come together and commit making a direct impact on the lives of women, children, and families,” said Peg Wright, president and CEO of The Center for Great Expectations. “We couldn’t do this without you," she said. "Thank you!" The annual SHARE THE LOVE event, which runs during the holiday season from November through the New Year, is part of the Love Promise at Victory Subaru. Earlier this year, Victory Subaru was awarded the 2022 Love Promise Community Commitment Award for its ongoing charitable endeavors. “Victory Subaru understands that being a good neighbor calls on us to champion the good work of local advocates in our community helping families in need,” said Anthony Napoleon, Victory Subaru general manager. “We were honored to support the mission and advocacy achieved by The Center for Great Expectations as our Hometown Charity for the 14th annual Subaru Share the Love event. The Love Promise commitment is an opportunity for us to unite with hometown heroes to create a better world through acts of compassion, charity and love.” “Victory Subaru continues to reaffirm our commitment to this community by supporting our neighbors and friends at The Center for Great Expectations whose mission is to help victims in recovery heal from the trauma of domestic violence,” Mr. Baker said. “Together we can make a difference — always.”
